Concours d’Elegance Sydney

Concours d’Elegance is derived from the French, meaning a Competition of Elegance referring to the gathering of prestigious automobiles.

It dates back to 17th Century French aristocracy, who paraded horse-drawn carriages in the parks of Paris during summer weekends and holidays. Over time, carriages became horseless and the gatherings became a competition among automobile owners to be judged on the appearance of their automobiles. Often the competitiveness of a Concours d’Elegance forces restoration of a vehicle to surpass ‘mint’ condition, mint condition would be the state of the vehicle when it originally left the factory.

There are many Concours d’Elegance events held worldwide, the most famous include Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance California,  Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Italy, Salon Privé London and Concours d’Elegance Suisse, Geneva.

The event is as much about style, fashion and elegance as it is a celebration of the appreciation and enjoyment of remarkable and exotic automobiles both old and new.

Event highlights include: a collection of pristine rare, classic and vintage automobiles in an exclusive environment, gourmet epicurean delights, fashion parade, entertainment, premium automotive and luxury brands, networking opportunities, mix with like-minded peers.

Our Philosophy

The three elements of Style, Fashion and Elegance define who we are as an organisation, it is the essence of our events and the theme we use across our communication.

Style – As important as what we do at Supercar d’Elegance, is how we do it. The style component is a way of life, a lifestyle ethos that not only incorporates the vehicles but also the people, venue, entertainment, food, beverage etc.

Fashion – Whilst Concours d’Elegance is known as a competition of elegance with owners judged on the appearance of their automobiles, the fashion component historically was just as important as the vehicles, with fashion designers creating outfits to marry and bring to life the automotive counterpart. Fashion nowadays is still complimentary with suitable fashion designers invited to show their latest collections, the crowds encouraged to participate in ‘Fashion on the Field’ and sponsors and exhibitors displaying their luxurious and fashionable brands and wares.

Elegance – Evident in the quality of the vehicles and the judging component which is of the highest standard, comparable to the globally recognised Concours
